Let’s face it – the Wild Apricot Theme Library is somewhat limited in terms of the theme offerings. I am not saying they are bad, however the themes are not Wild Apricot’s forte. Rather, Wild Apricot spends a lot of its time and efforts on making the platform stable and secure. They offer world-class features like membership management, and events management for pretty much an unbeatable price. That’s their bread and butter.

Currently we have 7 Wild Apricot Themes for resale. Our latest is a snazzy Nicasio Theme 7. So smooth looking with its offset typography and color variances. It pops right out of the box. But we created the Nicasio Wild Apricot Themes to fill a void in the Wild Apricot theme library.

How we arrived at creating Wild Apricot Themes

First we noticed a pattern early on with our clients pain points; the main one being esthetics. Clients wanted a more appealing look and feel so we presented them with Nicasio Wild Apricot Theme 1. If I am not mistaken, we sold about 20 Theme 1’s before we noticed there was a major opportunity for improvement. Hence the refined and improved Nicasio Theme 2. The approach changed. We no longer based our Wild Apricot Theme designs purely on aesthetics, but we took 1 major thing into consideration: The main pain points our customers were sharing.
1. Aesthetics was still #1
2. But, closely behind was a need for a clear and simplistic call to action
3. Driving membership registrations was 3rd
4. Featuring events 4th
5. And finally, quick and intuitive more subtle calls to actions like Resources & Benefits

Our Best Selling Wild Apricot Theme(s)

It took very little time to see we had hit a homer with Nicasio Theme 2. It has out sold all other Nicasio Wild Apricot Themes to date. But closely behind if not outselling Theme 2 are Nicasio Theme 3 and Nicasio Wild Apricot Theme 6. The main drivers of the new themes success and popularity are twofold: Cleaner aesthetics and an abundance of calls to action while at the same time accommodating sponsors and member news components.

While bringing more into a theme can be risky, our customers have embraced the opportunity to expand their calls to action and content offerings. And we don’t just overuse the layouts / sections of a theme, only the ones that make sense to a given customer.

We are often asked the following questions:

Meaning, when the project is done and launched the customer has full access to his Wild Apricot admin along with member data, events data, and financial data, etc. The Nicasio Wild Apricot Theme runs on your Wild Apricot account. It is NOT a different platform or system. Think of a Nicasio Wild Apricot Theme as a skin for your Wild Apricot website. We take what Wild Apricot offers and we refine it to look like one of our shinny snazzy Nicasio Wild Apricot Themes.
