I now find myself unemployed (I was an IT professional at a well-known major corporation), but no social networking manager. In fact, no social contacts to speak of (or so I thought). Had I been more of a visionary, I would have no trouble finding another position, because of my experience, accomplishments and achievements, and I would have contacts I do not have now. Woe is me. I used to think "Do a good job, and you will keep yours." was a way to get ahead and "climb the corporate ladder". I was mistaken. It's not what you know so much as who you know.
