Interesting post. I especially favor point #4: sidebars are out of control! I'm commenting because in point #3 you make an interesting distinction between CMS and blogging. I'm wondering what you consider the definition of CMS to be? Just pages? I really like WordPress, and I'm working on a plugin that combines WordPress with CodeIgniter. The plugin brings what I feel is a much-needed structure to custom app dev and WordPress. Don't get me wrong: the WordPress pluggable API is great. But nothing beats MVC for complex app dev, and IMHO nothing beats CodeIgniter in the PHP MVC space. I'm also building a commercial product on top of this plugin - one that will bring some more sophistication to the CMS features of WordPress. I'm hoping the end result changes the way people look at WordPress - it ain't just for blogging, after all!
