Savannah Wordcamp

Met Matt @ Wordcamp Savannah

I met Matt Mullenweg at Wordcamp Savannah this last weekend. Nice guy, and he rocked some old school kicks [sneakers] too. Red and white Pumas. Nice. I did not wear my Pro-Keds that day, but I had to mention that I had just got a new pair :)

Thanks for coming out to Savannah Matt. Enjoyed having you in town. Ya’ll come back now ya hear?

Facebook Open Graph What Does It Mean For Us?

In case you live on Mars and do not know it – the Open Graph API allows pages on the Web to have all the features of a Facebook Page. Pretty neat huh? Read more here – Open Graph API -

But, what good is a post about a new fandangled thing-a-ma-jig without an example of where I can actually see it at work right? OK. Levis seems to be rocking the API very well in its Online Store. The question is will this work for or against the store? Are 334 people liking the Slim 514 Jeans enough to make me purchase them? Or, will it have the opposite effect? For now, I am NOT buying the 514’s as I am now caught  up in finding the most ‘liked’ pair of jeans on the site, and when I find it – what if I do not ‘like’ them? Oh no!

Time to redesign your site

Nicasio Wordpress Design

With technology changing as rapidly as ti does, many business websites that were created a few years ago are in dire need of a redesign.  While there were only a few different design elements being used a a few years ago, new and much more creative websites are popping up all over the web.  There are many reasons that a business website could use a redesign. You will need to ask yourself some soul searching questions and give yourself a honest answer as well. First, when you visit your current site are you exited about it? If not, there’s your sign. When you are asked for your web address do you find yourself saying “We are working on it” or “We do not have one yet” ? If so, there’s your sign. But seriously, if you are not driving the traffic and page views you use to, then something is up. Does your analytics, and I hope you are running minimally Google Analytics, does it tell you you have a 70% or higher drop off rate? Then you may be bleeding money. Time for a new website redesign. These are but a few things to  considered in determining if your business website life cycle has become depleted and is in need of a change.

Why a Standardized Process

Some common problems associated with website design and development projects are wasted time, wasted money, ambiguity in scope, misinformed decisions, and many other errors related to communication and the execution of a project. Without a standardized process to help sort out the finner details of a web design and development project many, if not all of the above noted problems, are sure to prevail ruining well established relationships and adversely effecting a business.
