So, in my recent post I introduced myself. Told the world a little about who I am and what I do here at Nicasio Design. Today, I want to follow that post up with how we have become such big time advocates of WordPress. In part, I hope to be able to shed some light on what it is about this Content Management System that just rocks.

Until late this afternoon I had no intention of writing a blog post on our Nicasio Design blog. Then it hit me! I am not sure I have shared what my daily activities are here @ Nicasio Design. I must say that I am sort of ashamed to have overlooked the obvious for so long; In order to gain credibility – one must share some personal insight in a subject matter. So, here goes.

See form and function come together in this new site Chris has designed and developed for Coastal Allergy. Note the custom functionality in:
1 – Daily pollen count can be edited via a post or automated from a web source.
2 – Dynamic custom flash header where images can be managed via admin.
3 – Mini tags generated dynamically in Patient Education posts.
4 – Email function to email page to a friend.
Enough from me folks. Check Coastal Allergy out for yourselves. And tell your friends who have allergies about Coastal!

Anyone that is obsessed with WordPress as we are here at Nicasio is probably already well aware that WordPress has recently released their latest version of WordPress – 2.7 Coltrane. This is the first major overhaul to the WordPress platform and interface in some time. This new version adds more than a pretty new face to WordPress though. It also adds some much desired functionality making it easier than ever to be a blog admin.

Web 2.0 and Search Engine Optimization are two of the most used terms in web design and development today. Everyone says your website needs to be a “Web 2.0″ site and needs to take advantage of search engine optimization (SEO for short), but no one is really addressing how these two aspects of modern web development work together and how they can be improved for the modern online era. I will try to shed some light on this topic in this 2 part series of articles.
